Attractions – Cotswold Lakehouse

There are wonderful walking, running & cycling routes all around the lakes in the Cotswold Water Park www.waterpark.org/things-to-do/walking. We have left some books and leaflets in the lodge but I recommend visiting the Gateway Information Centre, opposite Isis Lake, for maps and guidance plus info on all the activities in the area. This website lists all the activities within the waterpark www.waterpark.org and we’ve highlighted a few of our favourite activities below:

The De Vere Hotel opposite Isis Lake has a spa, gym and swimming pool which guests of Isis Lake can use. Charges apply. Visit the Spa 6 reception or call the hotel for more details.

The lake adjacent to Isis along with the lake next door to the Info Centre offer kayaking, paddle boarding, windsurfing, boating and much more. More details can be found here: www.southcerneyoutdoor.co.uk and www.cotswoldwaterparkhire.com

Spring Lake, which has the Lakeside Brasserie on its shores, hosts water-skiing, wakeboarding, ringo rides plus other inflatables pulled along behind speedboats! More details can be found here www.lakeside-ski.co.uk. A little further afield is another water-ski school ten mins drive away, details here www.4lakes.co.uk.

There is a great beach and lakeside play area for families 5-10 mins drive if you turn right outside the main entrance of Isis Lake. More details can be found here www.cotswoldcountryparkandbeach.com. Adjacent to the country park and beach is the aerial and climbing adventure www.head4heights.net. And next door to this lake there is an open water swimming lake which also caters for kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing etc. More details here www.ukwatersports.co.uk.

Cirencester has both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool; www.cirenopenair.co.uk and cotswold-leisure-cirencester. There is also a small leisure centre in Cricklade www.crickladeleisure.com. Visitors to the Cotswold Water Park can purchase day passes to use the facilities at Hoburne Holiday Park, 5 mins down the road, which include an indoor and outdoor pool.

There is private bike & kayak hire at various places throughout Cotswold Water Park, www.go-by-cycle.co.uk (01285 862152) will even drop them off and pick them up!

There are several golf courses nearby. 5 mins away is www.southcerneygolfcourse.co.uk with www.oakseygolfclub.co.uk and www.cirencestergolfclub.co.uk a 10 min drive. A little further out is www.wragbarn.com and www.woodbridgeparkgolfclub.co.uk both about a 20 min drive away.

For archery, air rifle and crossbow tuition visit www.thecotswoldrange.co.uk or www.old-downs-pursuits.co.uk for a fantastic few hours entertainment.

There are several horse riding schools around the Cotswold Water Park. The closest being Cerney Equestrian Centre and Soth Cerney Riding School with www.reinandshine.co.uk and www.talland.net a 10-15 min drive away.

Less than five minutes drive away lies the waterparks own paintball site www.combatsplat.com where you can also learn survival techniques and bushcraft with www.cotswoldforestschool.co.uk.

For kid friendly rainy days Cirencester has and indoor soft play area www.rugratsandhalfpints.com just 10 mins drive away.
